About VaxTeen

OUR MISSION

Reversing the decline in vaccinations by encouraging teens and young adults to take responsibility for their own health.

VaxTeen communicates directly with teenagers and young adults to counter this dangerous tide of misinformation, encouraging those who are unvaccinated to catch up on vaccines as soon as they can by helping them find out what immunizations they need and how they can get them.

Kelly is a high school senior from Los Angeles, California.  After learning about the growing trend of teenagers turning to Reddit to figure out if they could consent to vaccinations in their states and what vaccines they needed at their age, she founded VaxTeen in hopes of providing a reliable and easy-to-understand source to answer their questions. Kelly’s long-term goal is to use VaxTeen as a platform to advocate for straightforward legislation allowing teenagers to consent to all vaccinations.

Kelly also works as an intern in the Division of Epidemiology at the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA, focusing on researching and improving vaccine policy. She is a member of the National HPV Roundtable, the California HPV Roundtable (of which VaxTeen is a stakeholder organization), UNITY Consortium’s Teen Advisory Council, and the Vaccine Working Group on Ethics and Policy.

Kelly will be attending Stanford University as a member of the class of 2025 and hopes to one day work in health policy, focusing on ensuring universal, comprehensive preventative care as she believes it is key to reducing healthcare disparities.
